The decision taken by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya not to allow any unauthorised constructions in the Colombo District is indeed a welcome step and one that should have been taken many years or even decades ago. Had this been the case the commercial capital would not have been in such a congested state as it is today.
