Steps have already been taken to recruit 50 officers on a contract basis to the Government Analyst’s Department to fill the existing vacancies to provide analyst reports on drugs using a rapid technical methodology due to the increase in the number of people being imprisoned, Justice and National Integration Minister Harshana Nanayakkara said.
