IN a speech during the celebration of Armed Forces Day last week, Myanmar leader Gen. Min Aung Hlaing declared that Myanmar “is firmly committed to the practice of a democratic political system, while resolutely advancing towards the consolidation of a Union founded upon democratic and federal principles.”
