Samagi Jana Balawegaya Kurunegala District MP J. C. Alawathuwala requested in Parliament yesterday a State of Emergency be imposed immediately as the country is facing a severe disaster situation. The MP also requested that this step need to be taken to legally enable the Army, Police and District Secretaries to carry out their disaster management activities without any difficulty.
