ON March 20 and subsequently, Boo Chanco wrote on oil deregulation, as have others with similar views. They are consistent and sincere Washington Consensus ideologues, and that passé, over-40-year-old view is dominant among our economists and commentators. I disagree with it. While they correctly view the problem, they offer a discredited, failed and (to me) harmful response.
