IRONICALLY, while the world's governments failed to agree on a Global Plastics Treaty that would have mandated drastic cuts in plastic production, the Israel-US-initiated war in the Middle East appears to have accomplished precisely that. The war has all but cut the supply of chemicals essential for plastic production in especially Asia and the Pacific and Europe.
