US designates Afghanistan as 'state sponsor of wrongful detention'

WASHINGTON, D.C. — US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Monday he has designated Afghanistan as a "State Sponsor of Wrongful Detention," demanding Taliban authorities release two Americans and commit to ending its "hostage diplomacy."
