Hong Kong reported 19 new local infections on July 8, 2020, as the city started to feel the impact of a third wave of contagion. Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the communicable disease branch at the city's Centre for Health Protection, said there are now fears of a “wider community outbreak”.
