Japan’s chief cabinet secretary Katsunobu Kato said on April 6, 2021, that he would closely monitor the situation after North Korea announced that it would pull out from the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Pyongyang says the decision was made at a meeting of North Korea’s Olympic committee on March 25.
