Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian-American journalist for Al Jazeera, was killed while covering an Israeli military raid in the West Bank on May 11, 2022. Her Palestinian producer, Ali al-Samoudi, was shot in the back and is in stable condition in hospital. Both were wearing press vests.
