Charlie McLean is a Queensland video journalist based in Ipswich. He joined the ABC in 2021 and began his reporting career two years later as a news cadet based in Canberra. Before coming to Queensland he worked as a regional reporter in Western Australia's Pilbara region. In 2022 Charlie was awarded the Student Journalist of the Year by the Walkley Foundation.
